About ProjectBOLD
VISION
Improve careers of scientists.
MISSION
To create solutions through consulting and professional development for scientists in Canada.
VALUES
Make scientific leadership and management skills more accessible; contribute to creation of a career-path for core scientists; and improve the operations of core facilities to elevate innovation, research and science in Canada.
IMPACT STATEMENT
It has been internationally recognized that the most promising way to improve innovation and excellence in science is to focus on:
1) proper establishment and support of core facilities (scientific platforms); and
2) evolving the role that scientists play in advancing science.
Core facilities are becoming increasingly popular in Canada as they have been acknowledged as significant contributors to elevating excellence, however, a notable challenge has been the identified where the scientists that work in these facilities (core scientists or platform scientists) lack an established career pathway and key skillsets to create their success and compete on a global level.
ProjectBOLD (Building Opportunities for Leadership and Development) offers solutions through the provision of professional development skills to research scientists, research professionals, core scientists, and to managers and leaders of scientific institutes. We also provide transformative consulting services to supplement this training. Our professional development training focuses on key areas such as strategic planning, operational management, communication, business modelling, and marketing. We hope to advance scientific careers and contribute to the success of core facilities through education. We strongly believe that by investing in professional development, scientists can be more adaptable, resilient, and contribute more effectively to institutional research and innovation missions.
